Alpine Meadows Lodge has ungroomed trails at our door. 3 km Elk Trail and 1.5 km Lodge Loop are easy options for cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. Alpine Meadows Trail climbs moderately 5 km to Cedar Lake where more options for backcountry skiing on Moonraker Trails is possible.

For novice cross country skiiers, the Golden Golf & Country Club have 10 km of groomed & trackset trails operated by the Golden Nordic Club. Become a member, they have a Clubhouse there.

The Dawn Mountain Nordic Trails

These are great trails developed by the BC forest Service and the Golden Outdoor Recreation Association's Nordic Club. The Club maintains the day use shelter and provides track setting. Membership and donations to support grooming and track setting are extremely important to the club to offset the costs of providing these services. Please drop off your contribution in the box provided.

Follow signs from Golden to the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, 12.5 km from Golden. Drive 0.3 km past the Resort Daylodge and turn right in parking for nordic trails..
